That’s called fascism.
We’ve been calling them fascists for quite a while, but merely being 100% correct, warning everyone constantly for a decade or more, peacefully protesting, voting every election, donating to elections, writing voteforward letters to increase turnout, watching the news, carefully disregarding propaganda, knowing the relevant history, standing up to close friends who fell for it, and boycotting all corporate media that enables the fascists was never going to be enough to stop fascism. What a fool I was for ever hoping so.
No, fascists have only ever been stopped in one manner.
No due process means they can do whatever they want and nobody can stop them. Doesn’t matter if you’re there legally, are a citizen, whatever. You’re not going to have an opportunity to make your case. That said, even when a judge does order them to stop a deportation it seems like they just do it anyway.

This is exactly what I have discussed with people of Hispanic backgrounds, who are either here legally, or native to the USA that approve of deporting immigrants. Your skin color dictates your eligibility for deportation. Identification, due process, laws, all of that go out the window when you have a government that decides to engage in mass deportation. You are not safe now. You played yourself and your fellow people. You let a con man make you feel superior to other human beings.

Legal Eagle has recently made a few videos where he explains how due process and laws were thrown out the window. Previously, it was just a ridiculous PR dumpster fire, but now it’s also a legal dumpster fire.
Looks like USA is spiraling towards some sort of dictatorship/anarchy/chaos/idunno. Some queer people are also giving the advice to go back to the closet before it’s too late, which is something I was not expecting to hear.
I wonder if some Americans could seek political asylum in Germany. You know, historical symmetry and all that?
