My god does it feel good to read something so well written and not by AI ! <3 Nice blogpost I went through the whole post !
However, I felt kinda uneasy to read about privacy and data collection and then seeing Google Voice being proposes as VoIP solution… :/
The guy behind The New Oil is half of the team behind Surveillance Report. It’s a killer podcast well worth your time. Videos are on YouTube and elsewhere.
Honestly, Google has gotten so bad at keeping up with Voice that it wouldn’t shock me one bit if it didn’t have any sort of tracking on it.
Apple beat Google voice in supporting RCS for fucks sake.
None of what you say is wrong, but I will say that though my regular number is on permanent silence and straight to voicemail because of all the spam calls and texts, the Google voice number I have had for years has been largely free of all that BS and continues to work great.
Maybe they are tracking everything I do, but the product DOES work pretty great.
