Does it exist? I miss when YikYak was for hometowns and you could view other cities or comment/post there if in range. I don’t like its current state after coming back. It was like the neighbour apps but less facebooky with a crowd under 50, was the ultimate local news source.
Ultimate local news source? As a guy who spent way too much time on that app 10 years ago, wtf are you talking about?
maybe it sucked for your tow/city? Was great for mine
Idk, it was ao small. I think the fun was going a few blocks over and getting a totally different vibe/community
I’d love an app like that.
A true app or program through running on devices. Something that could set up ad hoc networks or relays. Locally it should be reliant on the Internet.

Ah man, I miss that app. So good that my university tried to ban it.
But federation would be a weird choice for something that’s supposed to be limited to a small area. I guess if multiple people in one town wanted to run an instance…
