- Users are encouraged to switch to using Teams for calls and chats.
- Microsoft has been transitioning away from Skype towards Teams pretty much since Teams was introduced.
I remember at one point a company i worked for had Lync messenger - M$‘s corporate messenger. Then, when they bought skype it went through a whole rebrand to Skype business, but the process still showed up as lync.exe in the task manager.

They missed a huge window during COVID to be THE meeting tool/app by not adapting, and never recovered. Good riddance, I say.

Adapt how? I don’t recall Skype being any more popular then vs now.
