It appears to have happened when I switched systems, restored from a backup and changed ip addresses.
Thanks for looking into it, mob. It doesn't look like federation is broken for everyone, the other lemmy instances seem to be ok, so it's something specifically with compatibility with other services, so I'm guessing mastodon compatibility is broken too.
