When we see “tested under laboratory conditions”, we often assume real-world conditions will lead to faster degradation of a product.
Why would you assume that? You’re going to test a range of things, but you’re likely most interested in the best andworst case. Lab conditions just means consistent conditions.
Because of a company is paying a lab to test for marketing numbers than there is a significant incentive for the lab and marketing department to fudge upwards.
