I've written about John Gregory Dunne's book 'Vegas: Memory of a Dark Season', an autobiographical book about the year 1973, when he left his wife and their child to run away and live in Las Vegas.

The book is mostly better than what Hunter S. Thompson wrote; it's more elegant, sublime, and neat. There's less judgment pass on people's proclivities.
