DisplayPort is the better product but has lost out to HDMI. I’d be fine if it was discontinued.

HDMI only won on TVs. DisplayPort is the clear winner on PCs.

Are there any TVs with DP?

I wonder what the situation is with laptops. HDMI seems to be the standard and DP an additional thing that’s around sometimes, often through another port.

Do projectors commonly have DP or are they more often HDMI? I think TVs, screens and projectors having HDMI is the reason laptops have HDMI over DP.

DisplayPort Won On PCS tho especially Linux users with open source amdpro,Intel drivers that dont have good HDMI Support.

Every device that has a DisplayPort also has hdmi. Not every device that has hdmi also has a DisplayPort.

DisplayPort did not win even though I agree it’s better.

Any displayport source can (per standard) deliver HDMI, you just need a dp->hdmi adapter or cable.

The other way around is harder to achieve but works, too (needs an active adapter to convert the signal).
