Restricting the visibility of specific channels in the public stream
Unfortunately, SEO/SMM agents are actively exploiting fediverse to find ways to deliver advertising. An example of such spam from today’s feedPlease add a system feature to hide specific channels/hubs from the dsplaying in the public stream (rather than blocking them entirely), so as not to turn hubs with an open public stream into spam relays. The ability to moderate content display exclusively for the public stream (to prevent the spread of spam), without affecting the display of users’ content or implementing blocks at the hub level (so that this does not become yet another means of restricting the dissemination of information, such as a shadow ban) – would be very useful for admins.
In my view, this could be achieved by adding a separate blacklist for the public stream only in 'Administration - Site' or 'Administration - Security' sections.
Avoid the issue and return to original ethos of hubzilla: minimal public content, preferably no public spam (sorry, 'public stream')
