Hello UBports community!
I would like to express my interest in having Ubuntu Touch available for the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2 tablet.
Here are my device specifications:
Device: Xiaomi Redmi Pad 2
Model: 25040RP0AG
RAM: 8 GB
Storage: 256 GB
Processor: MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra
Android version: Android 16
Kernel: 6.12.30
Current OS: Xiaomi HyperOS 3
My goal is to completely replace Android with Ubuntu Touch and use this tablet as a Linux device.
I understand that this device is not currently supported and that porting requires specific hardware development.
I would like to know:
Is there any ongoing development or research for this tablet?
Is there any possibility of developing an Ubuntu Touch port for this model?
Are there developers interested in investigating MediaTek-based tablets?
I am willing to participate in discussions, provide device information and help with testing if a development project becomes available.
Thank you for your time and for your work on Ubuntu Touch!
Best regards,
A Linux and Ubuntu Touch enthusiast from Brazil.

that's a bit of a problem since most advanced Halium version so far is 14.
It's unlikely that an existing port could be simply copied, even if the device used for said Halium 14 port is actually a Mediatek one.
