I've finished: The Dritty Doesen: Some of the Least Reasonable Stories of Matthew Sanborn Smith

I like short story collections with commentary by the author. It gives more meaning and depth to the stories and helps me appreciate them more.

As someone who knows Mathew Sanborn Smith from his wacky Beware the Hairy Mango podcast, these stories are not as out there as the title suggests. Accept the title story itself.

I enjoy Sanborn's work and themes of social justice are always at the forefront of his work.

I read it for the r/fantasy 2026 reading challenge, as my choice for the: Small Press or Self Published, prompt.

Mathew is now on feedie and his podcast is the most beige party media I know.
