  There’s no law that I’m aware of that requires you to carry some kind of ID, but it’s required if you’re driving or buying something that’s age restricted (like alcohol).

  But there’s no point in digitizing your ID like this if the digital version isn’t a valid surrogate. Sounds like it’s as “valid” as taking a photo of it.

    Interesting. I had no idea it would be required when driving, but I guess that’s probably the same for a lot of places.
