His huge MAGA shift happened after his trans daughter disowned him. He thinks the school system did this to his kid. I think there’s even a quote from an ex wife begging him to do something about it in the new book (don’t quote me on that, but im pretty sure)
So whole this seems like an absurd straw that broke the camels back, it’s actually coming from a real place even if there is a separate motive like taxes.
