I remote-logged on them and read some posts. The post on installing Forte from Yunohost was quite interesting to me, because that's what I was planning to do.
On thing threw me: after remote login you are presented with a list of applications. Strange.

Yes, forte.hubzilla.net is my hub (open for registrations) and my channel there is called Blue Nomad.

On Fediverse Observer, you can actually find quite a few Forte hubs. But without the option to register, that doesn’t really help either.

I don’t use Google. But tell me, how (using which search term) did you search? Probably not just ‘Forte’, because you’re hardly likely to spot the hubs amongst all the medicines 😉😂.

My hub runs on YunoHost… and at the moment, the update frequency is going relatively well too.

  I just searched for some words and phrases from the login page, like "remote authentication"+forte or you can look up URLs with site:forte.* .
  The following instances have their registrations open:

    OK… that’s one way to search. But it’s not really for the average user. And all the hubs in your example are closed to new registrations.

    @Der Pepe (Hubzilla) ⁂ Yeah, as @Jupiter Rowland noticed above, these accounts have an option to register without actually providing open registration. Looks like a Forte glitch.

    https://forte.fediverse.observer/list (yes, this exists) only lists one server with open registration, and that's one that you haven't found yet.
    
    Either the servers you've found actually don't have open registration, but they still have the option on the login form. Or it's nodeinfo spurting nonsense when it isn't supposed to.

    Yup, you have the registration option on the login form, you even have the registration form, but you get a pop-up that tells you that registration is closed.
    
    At the same time, registration on @Der Pepe (Hubzilla) ⁂'s server is open, but nodeinfo seems to say otherwise.
    
    If the one (streams) server that I'm on wasn't currently offline (I hope it'll come back because I've got no clones), I could check which Forte servers it knows, for it seems to know half the Fediverse.
