  A driver’s license or state issued ID does not prove citizenship. They are issued to green card holders and other people who are not US citizens. These are the types of documents necessary to prove citizenship to get a passport.

  With the bill, a driver license and a state issued id also work. I have no idea where you got that only birth certificate or passport will work

  A passport validates you are a citizen. Even real ID does not prove citizenship.

  I think we need a system in which one must prove one’s citizenship to vote in a federal election. Voting in a federal election is right only to citizens.
