Many don’t realize the revolution happened and a democratic government was formed. Later Lenin led a second revolution to overthrow the democratic government.
they were annoying. tbh Lenin just got lucky that germany collapsed a year later, otherwise it would have been waaay worse for russia.

Yeah they definitely should have negotiated the peace way sooner since that would have been less punitive. Had to ultimately sign off on even more insane losses for it later, though it was buoyed by a misplaced sense that whatever they signed wouldn’t really matter. They ideologically figured that the Entente and Central Powers alike were all actively collapsing and soon to be replaced by sympathetic revolutions across the continent which didn’t pan out

It would have only been bad for Russia in the long term. Germany, even if it was doing better, would have still been happy to have a neutral Russia so it didn’t need a two front war.
