If we reach a point at which AI can do the jobs of artists without a real loss of quality, I expect that unions will lose a fair bit of bargaining power. Disney has never been shy about sending their work to cheaper, less powerful people... I have no doubt that if they ever can, they'll just fire their human artists and go with free (or cheap) AI.

Joke will be on them when AI achieves sentience, I guess.
