echodot@feddit.uk 2 weeks agoA modern smartphone has a screen that’s going to break. Those old phones had a block of plastic that was an LCD screen and then some buttons made out of some form of rubbery sponge.
They broke all the time, the point was that you could just put them back together again in 30 seconds. Everything is glued in place now, so when shock happens they rip and snap.
