iCloud has been a game changer since allowing custom domains, also their ‘hide my email’ feature is great for certain websites/trials/newsletters etc. Great if you’re already in the iOS ecosystem.
Comment on Is a personal domain address useful for email?

I only use my personal domain for emails because it’s easy to move from services to another. Right now I’m using iCloud services, but I could easily switch to Proton Mail or any other provider that allows custom domains.

True. And if you want to get out it’s easier to get out than even Google stuff. I’ve already done that before and came back to it because I switched to iPhone again.

This.
Be careful with some domains (like gTLDs such as .email). Tons of services and forms don’t see it as a legitimate address and only want .com, .us etc.
