The game being advertised talks about how Nazis adopted ancient symbols that previously had nothing to do with Nazis. A problem to have the double lightning bolts there but it’s a bit of a stretch to say it’s some kind of “tee hee we’re actually Nazis” dog whistle bs.

elvith@feddit.org 5 days agoThey basically used runes in a newsletter for a promotion of a game that “rendered unfavorably on some devices”. Whether it’s a QA error or if it was intentional with “plausible deniability” was debated everywhere a few weeks ago.

It’s probably not about sensitivity(people outside of Germany are actually more sensitive to that for obvious reasons) but because it’s illegal in Germany.
