superweeniehutjrs@lemmy.world 3 months agoI understand where you are coming from, but I can use hand sanitizer after touching a utensil, and the food stays clean. I can’t douse my lunch with alcohol, without ruining it. I have seen some buffets require gloves + utensils. I no longer frequent any buffets, since I find myself over eating too much at them.

Is that a clean room with forced ventilation to make sure every particle in the air is also removed? Otherwise why even bother if you do not go all the way? Would be a little bit like clicking in your seat belt at 5 positions all over the place… but not actually putting it on.
Stuff like that has its place, like in a hospital or chip factory. Where it is well thought through. But not at buffet.
