Comment on [Politics] Have phobia, will travel
anarchy79@lemmy.world 9 months agoOne thing I wish would have died with Reddit is this adamant OCD of “putting everything exactly where it belongs, and only one time until the end of time”. What if a post is both “wtf” and “shitpost” at the same time? You wouldn’t be able to post it to either because both would theoretically reject it as not belonging there. It would be trivial to find a reason for every single post made to this sublemmy to be removed because it violated some minute nuance of some kind of Platonic ideal form of “shitpost”.
Anyone who has ever tried to micro-organize a whole ocean of things ranging from files on a HDD to the complete stock of a supermarket will know being rigidly committed to a strict definition based structure is unfeasible and a completely non-working model.

I think it is pretty implicit that a post in this community should strive to have a level of amusement. I sure don’t find this post amusing, do you? It’s far too accurate and disgusting to be amusing.
People do not come to Lemmy Shitpost to get pissed off. That’s pretty much the opposite of why people come here.

First off you are just avoiding answering the actual points.
Secondly, you are illustrating the very issue with your answer. Let’s say I disagree. I might not, actually, but let’s say. Is there really an objective end to the discussion, or does it all just come down to personal preference? How many users have we got here, a couple of thousand? We are all going to disagree on the details, always.
My point is that it’s a shit system, and only encourages this type of nonsense argumentation in the comments of whether something belongs in the red box or in the blue box.
