Fred Hampton was deputy chairman of the national Black Panther party, chair of the Illinois chapter, and a Marxist-Leninist. He also founded the Rainbow Coalition which organized Black Panthers(blacks), Young Patriots(whites), and Young Lords(hispanics) under a banner of anti-racism and anti-classism.
