Bethesda have tried and failed repeatedly.

Fallout 4 was a decent game, but it wasn’t a decent fallout game and lacked the depth of previous titles in both fallout and elder scrolls titles.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the sentiment that Fallout 4 was not a good Fallout game. That title goes to Fallout 3.
