I have a Masto.es account for practicing Spanish, but activity and engagement seems low when I check-in. That could be my own social circle there, though.

I’m opening an account there, let’s see how it goes. I might look for open source / free software groups in Spain, there should be something.

Instead of looking for Spanish ones(or in addition) look for Mexican ones as well as the population will be much bigger.

I tried Mexican Lemmy instances too, but lemmy.fediverse.observer/list only showed mujico.org and its 20 monthly users. I’ll have a look for Mastodon servers!

On Mastodon there’s mstdn.mx, Mujico is basically a zombie instance, it exists but that’s it, also they hardly federate with anyone due to having problems with trolls way before the reddit exodus (but I remember them federating with lemmygrad, so that’s a red flag).
