Apparently the new mayor has a plan to clean it up. Just like the ones before her at some point.
I mean… what can you do?
“Hey, all you druggies! You can’t be druggies here! Go be druggies somewhere you’re not familiar with! Or maybe briefly to jail!”
Yeah, that’ll help.
Needle exchanges and safe injection sites help a lot. Decriminalization if not full legalization like in Portugal would help even more.
Yeah. Punishing people for being addicted is like throwing rocks at someone who’s drowning to try to knock them closer to land.
