So by that logic, Linux Mint isn’t Linux - it’s a new operating system compatible with Linux apps.

The actual changes the ROM itself is got over AOSP are not that big - some of the security patches are just Linux security features that aren’t usually enabled on Android.

Having built in apps made by the project is great - and sure is a lot of work. No amount of built in apps makes it a different OS though.
