Comment on Beeper Mini’s iMessage app for Android is broken, possibly by Apple
Telodzrum@lemmy.world 11 months agoIt’s no different than any other common platform. Ask a bunch of FB Messenger users to jump on a group text because one person doesn’t have a Meta account, or ask a WhatsApp user to interact with anyone outside that app.

That's true but it's neither an app or a common platform.
It's an exclusive one.

You’re right, it’s not an app, it’s a communication platform – much bigger.
And, with Apple’s marketshare in North America, it’s more common than almost any app.

It's ubiquitous by default, which makes it common among certain hardware for allegedly mysterious reasons.
