It’s a simple case of been there done that, and I wish I had allowed myself to see the situation as clearly then as I did when I replied to you. But if I may add one last thing – don’t forget to watch your back on the way out. Just as you are leaving because this is not a good fit for you, there is someone else just as happy to see them come in and relax all those high standards. So don’t talk about your plans, don’t give away details of your job hunt, act like you’re 100% happy to be there and you’ve seen the light and want to work there forever (nauseating, I know) and just for a little while until you’re out, don’t trust your coworkers to keep your secrets.
