  It might not verbally match with all languages (“doing the right thing” especially), but it still has some merit. I think left and right wing translate pretty well into other languages and ‘right’ generally is considered moving as forward moving while left is going back. This psychology trick is often used in movies and video games. You can even consider reading, progress bars and a lot of other things ‘moving’ to the right
