narshee@iusearchlinux.fyi âš1â© âšyearâ© agoI wouldnât want ghibli movies to be different, I just mean that I wouldnât mind stuff that you donât want kids to see. And I donât mean ecchi stuff. I had Perfect Blue in mind when I wrote the comment. Itâs not immature, not for kids and displays objectification as something horrifying. Not every anime has to be like Perfect Blue, but not every anime has to be suitable for kids. I read your first comment as a wish for any anime to be watchable with the family, but that is something I am very much against. Especially because people often take animation for a kidâs genre. It is a medium for any subject and any audience.

I fully agree.
I think thereâs a misunderstanding here. I donât mind when such themes is used as a part of the story, what I am complaining about is the forced ecchi aspect that is prevalent in most Japanese animations. Otherwise, If you remove that, a lot of anime may as well be for kids honestly.
When I was still watching anime and a ecchi scene was randomly thrown at my face. I wasnât like : âthatâs niceâ or whatever they expect me to feel, it always felt awkward and I end up asking myself what was even the point of that ?
