Comment on Robert Butler Dies: TV Director For ‘Batman,’ ‘Star Trek,’ ‘Hill Street Blues’ & ‘Moonlighting’ Pilots Was 95
The bulk of “The Menagerie” was Marc Daniels, but obviously the footage from “The Cage” was Butler’s.
Those two episodes still gave us the character of Christopher Pike which gave us Strange New Worlds so I will mourn this man.
What a strange night … just wrapped up season 2 of discovery and I loved how they intertwined the stories from The Original Series to Discovery.
It’s amazing to think that the work these people created over 50 years ago has had such a lasting impact.
What an amazing legacy.
