Comment on How is it that there are cold treatments and hot treatments for the same injuries/conditions?

As I understand it, heat will relax the fleshy bits but encourage swelling a bit and cold will reduce swelling but stiffen the fleshy bits. So depending on how far your injury is on its healing journey, you can use whichever is better at the time.

Yep. Usually heat is a treatment for the actual issue. Meanwhile cold is a treatment for the symptom (swelling).
While it isn’t recommended like that, I always prefer heat treatment. I don’t mind swelling.
