… they were supposed to be a misunderstood “villain” just trying to continue existing.
Comment on The Gorn is already enjoying his Friday. I hope you all do too, /c/Risa!

I’d like to mention again how impressive it is that Strange New Worlds managed to transform the Gorn from a joke to a menacing and interesting villain.

True. But in the continuity of SNW they are currently (miss-) understood as such.

Seriously - the first episode they show up in is genuinely some of the best “submarines but in space” combat I think I’ve ever seen. The tension is unbelievable. Arguably better than TWoK (for that style of space combat at least).

I’m interested in seeing it whenever I start SNW. I’ve been watching TOS again recently, and I just saw the Gorn episode again a couple of nights ago.

It’s a whooooooole different ballgame than TOS Gorn. WAY more of a compelling and scary enemy faction, in pretty much every way. And then there’s some additional fun stuff you find out about the Gorn later in the season, too.

I swear I’ll get there eventually. I just picked up paramount+ and started watching TOS again, which will then probably be followed by another TNG rewatch…
