valveman@lemmy.eco.br 8 months agoAFAIK, the word “gringo” is used by latinos to refer to anyone from other countries, not specifically US citizens. But yeah, definitely gringo

It varies from country to country. Can be either.

In mexico is pretty much exclusive to people from the US, don’t know about the rest of the continent tho.

In Colombia it’s all foreigners.
