Japanese media Denfaminicogamer recently brought together scenario writer Gen Urobuchi and voice actress Koiwai Kotori, who happens to be an avid fan of Urobuchi’s cult classic visual novel Saya no Uta, for a joint interview.

Didn’t know that about Kokko-chan lol. I’ve seen pictures of her from that interview recently but I didn’t recognise the game character.

They’re probably craving an ‘antidote’ within fiction precisely because the real world is so cruel,” Urobuchi explains. “And that kind of ‘comfort’ should be made by younger generations.

Very interesting to say especially with Kokko-chan in the room. I’m not a visual novel player but I really like Iyashikei anime which is one of the comforts in a cruel world he is talking about. The series Non Non Biyori where Kokko-chan plays one of the main characters (Ren-chon) is very much a strong example of these comforting experiences.
