My grandfather put a phone line in his bathroom. It wasn’t our of the ordinary to be on the phone with him and he would tell you to hold on a second, then you would hear a flush.

This was before cell phones. Homey had a land line in his shitter.

Wireless landline phones were a thing though. You still needed a base station plugged into the wall, but you could walk around the house etc.
