Poggervania@kbin.social 1 year agoActually, no! The Simpsons used the word and was the reason it was actually put into the dictionary, but originally the word was used in a book from some dude in 1884 by the name of C.A. Ward.

Ok, but if the Simpsons didn’t get the word from that book and came up with the concept independently, and then popularized it, it’s still valid to say that it came from the Simpsons.
