Interesting point. I do have siblings, but they’re half siblings. My father only had 1 child but my mother had 3, including yours truly. My paternal uncle had 3 children and my maternal aunt had 2. None of my siblings or cousins have had children yet but also they’re still young, 4 are in their 20s and 3 are in their teens. Statistically at least one of the 7 will so yes you’re right, it’s likely that at least 1 and possibly both lines will carry on, and that I’ll be a branch of a family tree some future relative may map off to the side which ends with just me. Think I might freeze some sperm…

With or without siblings, that’s the more accurate way of looking at it than OP’s idea that they are the pinnacle of fitness because their line ends with them.
