Why pay for Spotify or YouTube music if you can just use alternatives like ViMusic?
Comment on Amazon Prime Video is able to remove a video from your library after purchase.

I pay for Spotify and YouTube music. If I really like an album I’ll still go to Bandcamp if I can and grab the flac files. If it’s not there I’ll just BitTorrent/Soulseek/yt-dlp it.
If I don’t have raw media files, I don’t actually own it.

I actually really like Spotify as a service. YouTube music comes free with YouTube premium and that is the simplest way to stops add on Roku. Plus, I don’t mind supporting video makers.

I agree with the fact that it is more personalized and a lot easier to find good music to listen to. I just would hate to pay money like that because I usually stop using the service after awhile and forget to cancel the subscription lol

I know I’m an old fart but I still like having mp3s and dvds (or the equivalent files) because I don’t trust the streamers to not stop making something available or jerk the rug out from under me. Like you said, once you have the data you own it.
