Comment on In Pokemon Red and Blue, you're storing your pokemon in Bill's PC, not Bill's highly available georedundant cloud. One brown out and all your critters are gone.
Makes me wonder why Team Rocket never tried malware. They could control all capture Pokemon quite easily.
