Is Tekkaman technically mecha? It’s armor, not a big robot like Gundam/Macross/Patlabor/Zeorymer/Escaflone

Yep- starts out like guyver, but the main character can’t properly transition so he needs a robot buddy as assistant (and cannon platform)
