99% of machines use multiple users on their OS. Different users for different programs is a widespread Unix-like OS approach to security.

I think they meant separate amounts for different humans.
My Linux machines may have multiple users, but each only has one that you can log into from the lock screen.

I do on my laptop. Mostly so I can present with one user that has a clean browser history.
My main user has access to all my porn.
