Comment on Google Podcasts to shut down in 2024 with listeners migrated to YouTube Music

Okay, in the meantime, how do I export my subscriptions from Google Podcasts?

Last I checked, Google does not have that feature. There’s an open-source project to extract them for you, though: github.com/…/google-podcasts-export-opml
I started hunting for a new podcast platform when Stitcher announced they were shutting down earlier this year, and I settled on Podurama. It’s the only one I can use on any platform, including desktop Linux (via the web version, which is actually quite good). I can subscribe to private feeds (e.g. from Patreon subscriptions), it syncs play history in my account, and it allows me to mark episodes played in bulk so manually porting over my listening history was not as big an ordeal as in other apps/platforms.
I’m using it for free, though they do offer a paid version with some very minimal additional features.

How is it compared to Pocket Casts?
GenderNeutralBro@lemmy.sdf.org 1 year ago
Pocket Casts has their desktop and web versions locked behind premium plans, so I didn’t give it a thorough try. Podurama has all platforms available for free.
My only complaint so far with Podurama is that the “next up” feature doesn’t always work right in the web version, particularly after switching a session from one of the apps. Sometimes when I switch shows, it auto-plays the next episode of the previous show instead of the current one, which is quite annoying. This never seems to happen in the Android or Mac apps, only the web player.

Ohh. I just used the app so never required that cross-platform stuff.
On Android, the app is pretty solid.
