USA vetoing a resolution punishing Israel unless they accept a ceasefire without return of hostages, because they supported Israel militarily as a permanent foothold in the region, as other allies in the past have fallen to extremist regimes.
China vetoing a resolution that punishes Israel unless they accept a ceasefire with return of hostages, the only one the USA was willing to agree to, because they wanted the USA to look bad and it helped their favored candidate Donald Trump in the election.

The USA actually has less sway over NATO. NATO is a mutual defence pact, and while it has the power to reject applicants, their VETO power in UN is equivalent and more.

USA is about a third of NATO military capability, despite its high spending the number of troops available and their vehicles and fleets are nothing extraordinary.
Greenland absolutely was the generals, even Trump admitted that was why he backed down. He doesn’t seem like the type to lie in a way that makes him look weak.
NATO will survive Trump.
