start by checking the coupling between Z-stepper and threaded rod, it may be slipping if it has become loose.

Even if it feels tight, give the grub screws a tightening just for good measure, maybe some loctite if you have.

I finally printed something again yesterday, and, as far as I can tell, the z-positioning was perfectly stable thanks to your suggestion.
