borderstolutenfolk@lemmy.wtf 6 hours agoIn colloquial language, “chemicals” is fine IMO. It’s clear from context that it’s not H2O. Just like substance abuse is only about drugs, not cornography.

I mean, pornography (I’m going to assume it was typo) it’s not a substance.
And substance means drugs. It’s one of the definitions. en.wiktionary.org/wiki/substance
