- Comment on Google's latest reason to give them $14/month: "Watch in faster playback speeds with Premium" 1 week ago:
I’m glad that’s fixed.
And I think your approach is good. Look at Gamer’s Nexus’ channel. They got more funding from their supporters to fund their documentaries around the US, Germany and China in a few weeks than they would have got from youtube in months.
Viewer support is the way forward for creators imho.
Ib4 youtube bans external funding while using their platform.

Yea that’s their entire purpose, to allow easy dishing of misinformation under the guise of
it’s bleeding-edge tech, it makes mistakes
- Comment on Google's latest reason to give them $14/month: "Watch in faster playback speeds with Premium" 1 week ago:
Admittedly, the creators get extra revenue from you using premium, so that approach is very valid in my eyes.
Also, ublock now blocks a list that includes the tracker for youtube views, if I remember right, so peopld using ublock don’t even count towards the creator’s views now :-/ this may be outdated now
Donate to your favourite creators either way! And use patreon not the youtube BS because youtube takes a massive cut!!!

Holy shit, I had no idea that exists. My next TV will be a monitor with no internet access.
I’m in the process of making all our media sources and tech independent, starting with my dad’s laptop. I’ve already set up easy remote access so I can always help him with anything. I am NEVER using mainstream shit from now on.
- Comment on Is gold investing a scam? 2 weeks ago:
Not to be contrarian, but pleade don’t say gold is almost guaranteed to go up… There have been times in the 1900’s where people losot in gold massively and didn’t recover for decades.
It HAS been a good investment in the last while, but it may have been just luck.
Plus, at the price it’s at now… I kind of fear buying it.
I looked into it as well but in the end went with a Gov Bond ETF instead.

Doesn’t make it any less better. It sucks that the second something becomes mainstream, it gets sloppified imediatelly. Look at Reddit, Discord…

Yea the AI peddlers force the AI down your throat then write in a tiny text “btw this thing can kill you te-hee”
- Comment on Google's Agentic AI wipes user's entire HDD without permission in catastrophic failure 3 weeks ago:
100% agree with that tldr
- Comment on Google's Agentic AI wipes user's entire HDD without permission in catastrophic failure 3 weeks ago:
I agree with you, but still, the AI doesn’t do this by default which is a shitty defense, but it’s fact
- Comment on Google's Agentic AI wipes user's entire HDD without permission in catastrophic failure 3 weeks ago:
Kinda wrong to say “without permission”. The user can choose whether the AI can run commands on its own or ask first.
Still, REALLY BAD, but the title doesn’t need to make it worse. It’s already horrible.

- Comment on Why do some people have so many tabs open on their browser? 4 weeks ago:
Because people are overworked or overwhelmed, in my experience.
I noticed that people who are laid back and or relaxed for whatever reason, will close them.
On the other hand, people I know that regularly overwork themselves have a billion tabs open all the time.
They could also be tech illiterate I guess.
