There is little that the government can do. The main buyers aren’t paying enough for milk and the other buyers aren’t able to buy enough volume. An option is subsidies, but we thenwe need to add that to the UK tax. Tax that’s avoided by the biggest buyers of milk…

Unless there is a future need for all this milk, or an argument for food security, couldn’t the government incentivize the farmers to grow different crops, or even rewild their farmlands?
