- Comment on Best "bang for your buck" NUC/Pi setup for Jellyfin/HomeAssistant/PiHole? 6 days ago:
We appear to have a similar affliction. I’m let down terribly by a lack of expertise, and so take a best alternative in most cases. My VPN is Mullvad. I’m due renewal in the next 2 months so will be pondering simple renewal vs switching to ProtonVPN. The purity of Mullvad privacy is wasted on me as the only real difference appears to be the option to pay by bitcoin or cash. Proton appears to have more options and less likely to be blocked if you go away on holiday etc.

Maybe you enjoy the “getting it to work” part more than me. I went from RPi to a cheap used miniPC from eBay. Installed Debian and bought a wireless keyboard with touchpad. Cheap and so much simpler. Plays all my flac music through Strawberry, plays all my movies at home and away. Easiest VPN setup, I don’t use smart functions of my TV, just the miniPC for everything.
- Comment on 4chan faces UK ban after refusing to pay ‘stupid’ fine 1 week ago:
As shitty as 4chan is, as dumb and pointless as that UK legislation is, we STILL invited Trump to dine with the King. The Royal family didn’t even invite thier own pedo.
- Comment on 4chan fined $26K for refusing to assess risks under UK Online Safety Act 1 week ago:
So then… Potential arrest and imprisonment for 4chan for no proven damage. Meanwhile, Trump can visit the King.

I think the European leadership has changed and we need to watch our elected officials. However don’t think Google was pushed into anything. They’re now he company that does the opposite of their original manifesto. They’re evil don’t need that.
- Comment on Google's shocking developer decree struggles to justify the urgent threat to F-Droid 3 weeks ago:
Let’s hope that the rest of the world, specifically Europe smash this ridiculous proposal apart for what it is. Europe has already sorted out USB-C etc. Its not perfect and they don’t get everything right, but certainly big enough to make stuff right.

Given the overwhelming number of well structured studies showing no relationship, the meta analysis that potentially, may, if you quint and really try to bend the light to see it in a certain way, is simply too far away to have any meaningful value.

Macro-Shite giving no option but to have AI. They know dumbed down people are easier to harvest. Its the equivalent of getting people to pay for bitcoin mining and having the proceeds sent directly to you.

I don’t have any issues. It’s free to download to any operating system. So give it a try. See if it can open your existing Excel spreadsheets

Yeah, I’ve dumped all mikroshite from my devices for FOSS software. Only my work laptop has it and I never do anything personal with that. Libre Office, Thunderbird, Notesnook. Also considering Obsidian and Joplin.

A key to free speech is the freedom to make comment, outside of libel / hate speech etc., and the right to be called out for any comments made. I treat all feedback like I would making clinical records. I must be able to defend and explain what is recorded.

This creates a circus act to protect documents. Thank goodness for great alternatives. I use a mix of LibreOffice and Cryptpad. Suits me perfectly.
